Company Purpose
GAIA (Global Alliance for Infostructure Advancement) Corporation is a management consulting company dedicated to ensuring that its clients make effective Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) investments. The company focuses on supporting the building of capacity to develop and implement sound ICT policy through sustainable and adaptable governance structures. It does this through the provision of leadership, knowledge and independent advice, the development of pilot projects and the formation of partnerships.
GAIA believes that ICT is a basic infrastructure need for the success of any client. The development of ICT policy can be a focus for improvement throughout an organization, but to be effective ICT policy needs a comprehensive approach.
GAIA's approach is to be independent of any technology providers and is only concerned with measures and policies that create an enabling environment for valuable ICT services, rather than the technologies themselves. Providing the highest quality expertise available takes many forms including partnerships and joint ventures. GAIA is committed to the best interests of the client and has the organizational flexibility to adapt to unusual circumstances.
GAIA is a joint venture of three Canadian management consulting firms: Hickling Corporation, Ottawa, Canada and Jakarta, Indonesia; Second Step Solutions Inc., Calgary and Toronto, Canada; and Syntel Consultancy, Halifax, Canada. GAIA's Chairman, Dr. Gaylen Duncan, is the President of the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) and a Partner with Second Step Solutions. GAIA's President, Murray Doehler, is a Partner with Syntel; and GAIA's Vice President and General Manager, Warren Wong, is a Partner with Hickling.
